NEW TOPIC: I posted the comment below here this morning. It was not directed at Tapperboy. I expressly headed my post “New Topic” to distinguish it from the discussion above it. I thought the “discuss” page was for discussion regarding the facing page “regulars”. Tapperboy has deleted my post, and left an accusatory remark addressed to me. I fail to understand how my comment is related to the previous discussion, and I fail to see how one person can control the wiki. You first of all deleted the contents of the other page first thing this morning ( refer to earlier versions of that page to see the history of it) you deleted the contents while trying to get a “talk about” page started for this topic of talk, namely the unlocking of the regulars page.

I have reworked that other page since taking it back in time to before you deleted the contents and have also created this NEW PAGE to satisfy your need you had had there expressed in the other page to have a place to talk about the unlocking of the regulars page. Your needs are being met.

Tapperboy, as you are obviously fully aware of how to edit and navigate the wiki, could you please add your posts to the bottom of the current discussion where they belong so that the discussion is kept in order of submission.

I have not asked if you or anyone is happy to have the “regulars” page unlocked, but I have only asked the wiki manager to consider unlocking it. Why your needs have precedence over everyone else is beyond my understanding.

As you are obviously concerned about your original “goodbye” message on the “regulars” page, I will repeat: I did NOT delete OR change your message EVER, even with my first post suggesting that the first line was inappropriate. My only MISTAKE was posting it to the wrong page as I was not familiar with the “discuss” page or it’s use.

It appears there is some some small confusion about what I am trying to achieve as being perceived as something other than what I intend as so it is again (spelling checked and small edit to it for clarity)

Tapperboy, as you are obviously unduely concerned about the future of your “farewell” message, I sincerely wish you would check back on old revisions so that you can clearly see that your original “farewell” message on the “regulars” page has never been altered or deleted by anyone (other than your own alterations at your own instigation).

Thank you huntervalley /hv but that unfortunately is somewhat untrue, the old revisions show otherwise. Where as this process we are going through at the moment is a learning process (and we are getting better at it) the old revisions show an alteration to my farewell message by a person other than myself, that I will not wear.

As for older deletions and such I, like you, am certainly trying to not delete stuff unless through epure rror, that appears to have been part of the learning process I just wrote about. I hope this clears things up for you. You should be able to fully understand my situation now and things can hopefully progress without the need to this back and forth. I do expect in time the regulars page will be unlocked. I will monitor the situation accordingly.

I think posting falsely under a registered handle (pacman2) and getting royally busted trolling another person with that handle serves you no good measure to suggest to me that using a single word (duress) in my farewell message is something I should be need to think twice about. I asked you to consider this for the good of the forum. Your statement in question is vindictive and selfish designed for your own satisfaction, when those who care about the well-being of the Scribbly Gum nature forum would consider the purpose and expected benefit of the forum before their own personal gain.

I have tried to remove the contents of the 'discuss' page because it is also an unfriendly and unnessecary blot on the Scribbly Gum Wiki public resource and serves no purpose, but tapperboy will not allow it.

It is stated on the Wiki that those who edit a page should do so only to improve the resource. Removing the contents of the discuss page in question is a vast improvement than what tapperboy insists on leaving to “preserve history”.

What is the Wiki about for crying out loud? “Preserving history” or providing a valuable resource to those genuinely interested in nature?

So what course of action am I to have on this issue? Does anyone have an opinion on this? hv
