Includes a brief summary of insect anatomy and biology, and a pictorial key to insect orders. All orders and some major families are described. Colour photographs, line drawings. **Child, John. (1960)**. //**Australian Insects**//. First published **Periwinkle Press**, republished numerous times. A little classic. Small format paperback, sadly out of print but reasonably easy to obtain through second hand bookshops or EBay. For each species, Moulds provides information on distribution, habitat, diagnostic characters, song and life history. ISBN 0 522 84326 3. 535 pp.** Part One is a treatment of the anatomy, life history, biology and biogeography of moths. Part two covers the Australian moth fauna in as much detail as possible, given the sheer number of species. Most of the more commonly encountered moths are mentioned. The book includes a list of larval food plants. CSIRO** A comprehensive guide to the Australian dragonfly fauna. The book includes identification keys not only for adults but also for their larvae, commonly known as "mud eyes" and often used as bait for freshwater fish. With stunning full-colour images and distribution maps, the book covers all 30 families, 110 genera and 324 species found in Australia.
